Mounting LED Lightgun Strips
« on: February 27, 2006, 11:48:09 am »
Okay, the "WOW New LightGUN Info !!! Woot!!!" topic is now 32 pages long so, I've dedided to create a new topic purely for dicsussing the mounting of the LED strips and the guns.

My bezel is just a piece of hardboard cut and painted to fit so cutting two extra holes in it wasn't a problem - you guys who have bought or spent money on yours probably won't want to go down the same path.

Pictures are on my blog site. I'll try and paste some into this message but for some reason when I've done this before they only appear on my computer and not anyone elses (cache settings or something ?).

The first piccy is of the machine from the front : (ignore the wires going up the sides of the cabs. They are just my PS2 controllers that I leave on the top of the cab.)

Next up is a closer view of the right hand LED :

And heres one of the guns in its "holster" (okay, two pieces of dowel) :

If the pictures don't appear then take a look at the blog - www.buks01.blogspot.com

That is really cool. 8)  Was is worth the effort?  I'm considering adding light guns, and I am looking for opinions.

mccoy178, I highly recommend the guns although prepare to mess about with the drivers ! Theres more than plenty of opionions/fixes etc in the other thread.

My advice would be to possibly just get one gun though - lots of people having problems with 2 guns. I've not bothered setting up my second gun yet. But I will eventually.

Not sure where you are (Ohio ?) but I *think* you can buy them from within the US otherwise get them from playasia or lik-sang.

If you don't want to read the entire thread some kind person has summarised it all in here : http://www.wizardsworks.org/chod/gun/topgun.htm

Alternatively try Silverfox's guide (this is what I used to get stuff working) :

Good luck !
