Game Launcher Wont Work

I've been using Game Launcher for a while and its been working great, but ever since today when ever I try to run the program a window pops up saying Error: Could not create "logs" directory.  I have a logs directory in the Game Launcher folder too.  I tried downloading it again and I still get the same error.  Any Ideas.  If it helps any bit, I'm using XP pro.

hmm i'm just a newbie but i'd try making the logs file writeable maybe they got changed to read only and its causing problems good luck let me know what does fix it when you do figure it out.....

So if you completely erase the glaunch directory and re-download the program and put it in a new folder and run it just like that with no modifications, you still get this error?

I've been getting this error off and on for the last little while.  I would normally hit OK, then re-load Game Launcher and it would work just fine.  That Game Launcher does some funny things - e.g. I can only run emulators other than MAME (ME, ZSNES, Gens) when running Game Launcher in debug mode.  Makes perfect sense to me

I'm not sure, but I believe he posted a special test version for XP users to see if it would help or not...  but It's possible I'm confused... *shrug*

Well I've tried everything that was suggested.  Still doesn't work, but there is no need to worry.  I'll just find another frontend or make one.  I don't even hav my cab made yet so this was just for testing.  If you do find a link to that special test version that would be very apreciated, becuase I realy like this program.

I have a request for anyone seeing the 'Could not create "logs"
directory" on Windows XP.  Can you download this test version of game
launcher:

  http://www.dribin.org/dave/game_launcher/gltest.zip

The zip file contains a new _gl32.exe.  Make sure to rename the
original so you can put it back.  Then put the new _gl32.exe in your
Game Launcher 0.9.8 directory.  Now run the following from the command
line (i.e. cmd.exe):

  _gl32.exe 0xdead 0xbeef

Hopefully you will get some stuff printed to the console.  If you can
cut and paste the output and mail it to me, I would be grateful.

I had the Could not create "logs" directory in glaunch and could find little help so I am replying to this old post to help others. I found that you get this error on XP (and probably win2k) computers if you are running glaunch located on a large NTFS partition (I suspect larger than 8gig). If you move glaunch to a separate partition that is FAT32 or a small NTFS partition under 4 or 5 gig, glaunch works fine.
