Sick of the auto-censor?
« on: February 03, 2006, 08:27:22 pm »
There is a new theme now called "Classic - Uncensored" -- it's the same theme as the main theme, but you have the option to turn off the auto-censor. When you click your "profile" button (top of the forum page), and then choose "Look and Layout" settings, and then choose "Current Theme - change" and choose the Classic-Uncensored theme, there's an option on that page to not censor words.

Cheers!

I guess I misunderstood.  I thought this new theme would allow me to see the words that are usually auto-censored.  But it does not.

---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, crap, ---fudgesicle---
still comes out as
---Cleveland steamer---, crap, ---auto-censored---

Hey saint, how'll it filter out the younger crowd?

I tried it, but I don't like it.  I think someone put their finger on it when they said it gave us some "character" :D

If I read this right, Drew's saying that watching himself is how he gets sucked into a lemonparty.

Weird...I just posted a post in EE...I use this theme, and I'm having words auto-censored.  It wasn't doing it before.  Heck...there are words in this thread that aren't.

* Peale is confused.

I did, first thing..  I see both swears and censors, so I'm guessing the censors are typed manually.

Edit: except I just remembered that it censored one of my own posts, and that doesn't make any sense.

Uncensored theme is now gone - SMF default theme and classic theme both have the option to turn off the auto-censor enabled. Classic theme with auto-censor off is the same thing as the "uncensored" theme and I don't want to juggle two themes :)

I love the autocensor.  I like not having to censor my posts thanks to knowing that autocensor has my back.

Thing is, I haven't even turned it off for me.  When I'm not at work, ---fudgesicle---, ---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, ass, ---smurfette---, dick, etc. are all part of my every day language.  But I kind of like the flavor autocensor adds to posts.  I think of the autocensor as the little bleeps peppered throughout an episode of Southpark.
