There is a dipswitch setting for this game to select what type of wheel you have.   I think by default it is set to 270, so if you have a 360 wheel you need to change it.

I got the screen flipped the right way and Set it for 360 optical and the wheel still won't work.

Are you saying in your first post that your steering was working before you flipped your screen?

I have it working on my 360 wheel.  You might want to adjust your sensitivity settings.

I know the wheel works because it worked fine with the World Rally board bfore I swapped in the 1000 Miles Rally.
If I go into the settings it will recognize that the wheel is there but it won't respond.

Is your 360 wheel being used as a mouse as well?  If so, then you should not need to go into a Mame game to see if it works.   If so, then do you have "mouse acceleration" turned on your computer ...... maybe this affects it?
If not, then please explain how you connected your 360 wheel to your cabinet?

That's an optical transistor that runs that wheel. It uses and led to work, it's that big black transisor.

One, you can see if you have 5V to the optical board. If you do, then you need to clean the slot.  Take it out and clean the inside of the optical slot.

If that doesn't work, your board is dead and you need to find a new one.  I don't think you can get it fixed unless you can find an ECG part to replace that transistor.

They cost about $10 bucks, and you can find one by asking on RGVAC.

Its not a MAME machine. And I know thew wheel works, I had my world rally board in the cabinet right before I swapped boards.
I just don't have alot of time to mess around with it.
Thanks for the link BTW. I ended up finding a 1000 miles rally 2 manual and used that for the dipswitch settings.

Now I finally got time to hook up the connector for the wheel and the picture is all messed up. Its all dark 99% ofthe time, every now and then part of the picture will pop up otherwise its displays a dark blue/black color, but I was able to get the test mode to work long enough to see that the wheel worked.
So I tried 2 other boards which worked perfectly. Now im totally lost. Is the board shot.

Anyone? I may take a picture of it if it would help. I got mad and put the world rally board back in it so it may take me a while to get ambition to do it.

where did you connect your steering wheel to,if you dis the wheel wiring is the picture ok,if you do all that and still have a picture fault although another board is ok then obviously you have a board fault prob something on the video output or maybe a dipswitch, all the  1000mile rally we had used a 270 pot wheel or joystick because if i remember correctly we could not get the 360 to work.take a photo of your picture for me to see.

I hooked the wires for the wheel to the 6 pin spot on the lower board as the manual says for a 360 wheel. So I plugged it all in and turned it on in service mode and saw enough to see that the wheel was somewhat responsive before it went black. The service screen is 3/4 black and the normal screen is like 98% black with the car visible at times. Not the board worked fine a number of times prior to this so I unhooked all the wires I had just added and still the same. So I then tried 2 other boards which worked fine.
I'll get some pictures of it proble closer to the weekend.
