Xbox Light Gun Recommendations?
« on: July 19, 2005, 02:20:25 am »
Anyone have any recommendations for nice light guns for xBox.

When i say nice I mean:

accurate
non ray gun looking (classy looking) definitely not the green madkatz
workwith hi-res monitors possibly work with HD.

Got anything that fits the poor description above that works well for you? Point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

-Goz

I recently got the Beretta 92FS replica gun.  I didn't get it from here but here's a link: http://www.ciao.co.uk/Thrustmaster_Beretta_92FS__5434192

Couldn't tell you if it works with HD, but I know it works with 100hz TV's if thats any use.  I now use it with my arcade monitor, so I can confirm that works.  The accuracy is very good, as far as I can tell.  It has a reload button on the bottom of the handle, presumably to simulate 'sticking in another clip'.

Just a shame the XBox doesn't have more gun games :(

I've heard good things about THIS LIGHTGUN, but alas, I can not review it for you as I don't have one yet...  :(

Minwah's deffinitly right about the lack of lightgun XBOX games though... I think there's maybe 4, one of which you have to turn the brightness up so high that most just say "fark it" and play another game instead.  There is however lightgun support on FCEultra and xSNES9x among others so if you've got a modded XBOX that makes it a little more worth while.
If there's bees in the trap I'm catching em
By the thorax and abdomen
And sanding the stingers down to a rough quill
Then I dip em in ink, and I scribble a bit
But if it they wriggle then I tickle em until they hold still
Lemme say it again
In my land of pretend
I use bees as a mf'n pen

I saw that gun and thought it looked good...

I'm sure I read it had some reload problems tho.  Then again I'm not sure if this is just a software problem (HOTD3's auto-reload) or not.  The reviewer made it sound as if it were a gun-specific problem as he reviewed some other guns also.  Sorry I don't have the link, and have no idea how I stumbled upon it - try Googling for that gun + 'review'.

I have two of the Boss Battle, they sell on Ebay for ~30 for two, they work great in House of the Dead and fce, you have to use Mameox 128 lightgun for the best support, and it still has room for improvement, over all I like them.
