Alright... I think i can post this here now that the auction has been closed and the board is no longer available there...

So,  I sell 48-in-1 multi-game boards from time to time on ebay.  Well,  I am informed today that some jackass stole my custom "48-in-1" artwork from one of my auction.  So I go and check it out and sure enough,  the rat bastard stole my art!  Not only that,  but the guy also just cut-n-pasted a good chunk of my auction as well.  What was worse (for him) was that even LEFT THE LINKS TO 48 IMAGES LINKED TO MY ISP WEBSERVER!!

After a couple link changes on my own auction....here is the result of what his auction looked like (he has since closed the auction and I'm not sure how long this link will last)...

Again...this auction is CLOSED and can not be bid on,  that is the only reason why I would post this here on BYOC as I am aware of Saints rules RE: multi-game boards.

It was up a good 4 or 5 hours before he took it down.  You can see his counter stopped at 65...so 65 individual people saw it (well,  minus the couple that had viewed his auction prior...50 would be a good estimate).

Not enough though...but it worked.

Keep an eye out for any more of his auctions.
If you see any, make sure to ask him if he stole the images and bandwith like the last one you saw.  Nothing like making him think he destroyed his ability to market to his audience.  Come to think of it, we should all do it.

So, you now admit that you sell illegal multi-game systems on eBay and haven't (yet) been thrown off by the Namco/Nintendo copyright police.

Geez Pac Fan,  I'm honored you took all that time to go looking up my history and all.   I guess I am someone special.  First off,  I don't sell PC emulation boards...never have,  never will.  The boards I sell are not PC based...perhaps you may want to investigate these boards a little further.  The boards in discussion in the thread you so kindly spent time looking up are the 1000-in-1 mini-PC based emulation boards that run a hacked version of Windows and a hacked version of MAME.  The boards I sell do not use MAME...do not use ArcadeOS...do not use a PC at all.   

Furthermore I wasn't upset,  but rather amused...

...hence "The Hoff" and "Rosie". 

Now,  while I am feeling all touchy feely about the fact you are so "in to" me that you'd spend so much time busting that "apples to oranges" link out,  I do think you may want concentrate on other things in life. I mean come on,  the fact you spend a single solitary second searching for that link does give us quite the insight on your time management skills...I mean you GOT to have SOMETHING better to do,  right?

You're fooling yourself if you think there is really a significant difference between a hard drive loaded PC dual layer board and what you're claiming to be selling. What you're selling has the bios hacked to load an operating system and front end out of solid state memory ("disk less") and launch the same emulator -- MAME.  Just because it doesn't have a disk to spin and a PC/ATX-looking board, doesn't mean it's any different.

The fact is, they're all emulation --- and they're all illegal because they're using stolen rom images.  You know it's true because you attempt to side-step Saint's rules about posting links to multi-games "for sale" by saying it's no longer available.

You are a theif, and attempting to profit from others work. It's that simple.

Get a real job producing something of value that doesn't steal from others, then sell that, and stop whining if others try to steal from you. You're no better than them.  You are the one that needs something better to do.

And BTW -- It took me all of 30 seconds to find that thread after remembering seeing it a few months ago.  Perhaps you don't know how to search that well and why you try to profit from others work instead.

First and foremost my friend,  this link was to SOMEONE ELSES auction and it was posted for the HUMOR factor.  If you don't have a sense of humor,  that is fine,  move on down the road.  I am not attempting to sell ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- in here and as a matter of fact,  I don't even have ANY 48-in-1 auctions up right now.

Yes, I realize it was someone elses auction. If you'd actually READ things, you'll see I called you out on your statement that *YOU* sell these things. I am not referring to this other seller at all.  You're the one that said that you sell them, thus admitting you trade in something illegal.

No, I do not sell on theif-bay. Most of the goods are either stolen, counterfeit, in bad condition, claimed to be like new and arrive like crap, and scamming sellers who shill their auctions and don't know how to pack or ship safely, and double shipping charges at the same time. Why would I want to join the den of thieves?

I collect original game and don't own a singe multi game system at all and never will. I've read enough to know they're first illegal, second, have crappy sound and delayed input emulation issues.  Centipede with a joystick, c'mon?

* Months ago, I saw you call someone out on a multigame board discussion thread claiming it was illegal, getting that thread moved to post hell
* A couple months, I saw you post the other thread (I linked above) stating your reasons after the other was deleted.
* Today, I see you post this thread and see your are upset someone is stealing images from you and you get back at him, all on an item that they sell that you sell as well, and you admit to it, and we all know it's 100% illegal.
* Today I post calling you out since you rose a stink about legality of someone else's more-game board and getting the tech discussion thread killed when you are selling yet another illegal multi-game board yourself.
* You get upset thinking I'm trolling you and trying to act innocent and make excuses.

You're a counterfeit selling thief making a profit by selling imported emulation goods that violate the terms of use of many things, not limited but including Mame and many manufacturer's rom images. You dug your own hole posting this thread to begin with.

I'm sure Aaron and other MameDevs would love to see another BYOAC "high post" user being a theif of their work, let alone Namco, Atari, Nintendo, et. al.  You declared your illicit trade dealings, not me. Deal with the consequences of being called on it.

There is absolutely no way that I am getting involved here. 

Although I for one would find it useful if the MAMEDevs had a list of multiboards that are infringing on MAME so that people can better navigate these waters. The ROM issue is pretty clear, but the question of the underlying emulation is another matter.

The image substitution was pretty funny.

What I'd like to know is that how in the hell Dat Fan knows anything about these boards when he admits he has never used a 48-in-1 game board.  I can tell you for sure that many games on these boards play slightly different than any version of MAME I ever used.  For example DK's single sample run sound...if it was MAME,  they'd use all 3 samples... not to mention the dip settings of a number of the games don't match MAMEs settings...etc.

But again people,  this thread is supposed to be funny...If we want to have a discussion of the technical aspects of multi-game boards,  then I recommend we start a new thread.

FrizzelFried, you are doing an excellent job of taking the high road no matter what is said against you.  At least Saint is watching this thread and I bet his trigger finger is getting rather itchy.  I think what you did to that auction was worth it and funny.  Though I don't think that the poster of that auction thought it so.

I took several minutes and perused some of the posts by the local troll here.  There are some good posts in the Monitor forum where he seems to be an expert.  As I know little to nothing about monitors I can't say much more.  However there is quit a bit of negative energy coming from most of the other posts.  He even admits that he has used eBay in the past then he goes on one of his negative tirades. 

I would suggest that you just ignore the negativity and let the rest of the community enjoy your little joke.  I know that I did.
