I bailed on going to this auction. :'(

Last year the St L auction before Christmas offered considerably higher prices for similar games.

How were the dead row prices?

Was there a Gyruss present? If so please lie to me and say it sold for more than $300.

Yes, sure those prices might seem low... but,

that list does not show the actual condition these were in.   Some may have had non working boards, monitors, broken controls, poor cabnet...ect.

Then, there are the fees.   Add 50 to 100$ to some of those.

And finally,  think about the expense of driving there,  with somethng big enough to hold a game or two.. and then driving back.

ohh and i almost forgot...  many cheap games sold, are not really sold.  If nobody bids high enough..  the seller will bid to buy his game back.   Its not supposed to be like that.. but thats what happens.

Maybe our fault for ASSuming but since some were marked as (broken) I assumed that all others were in working condition which also means all parts there.

No Gyruss present.  The dead row contained about 40 cabs and the prices were from $15 - $50 each.  I had been WAY outbid on a driving model so I was pissed and did not stick around to watch the dead row.

Don't forget that %20 surcharge (13% buyer plus 7% sales).  I overheard a lady freak when they told her her bill was $3,200.  A $2,560 purchase will nail you with $640 in fees and taxes.

Wow.  Guess it all depends where you are.

Prices were considerably higher (on average) at the Baltimore auction on the same day.

Though some went for good prices, on average though I'd say the games fetched twice what they did at that one.

So buy in St Louis, sell in baltimore..  Sounds like a business plan worthy of Kramerica.

These are the last on the list of the uprights. Nearly all the games there worked.  If they did not work, they sold very cheap - unless it was a collectable cabinet.  I can not confirm what worked on this list. At this point, I was walking around the whole auction and only followed up to get the prices.

Everything in the UK is hugely over priced compared to other countries... Haven't you noticed this before.

Frequently the US Dollar price for an item is exactly the same as the UK Pound price.  A computer costing $500  will be for sale in the UK at
Most bottles and jars contain at least twenty-five percent recycled Pacman.
And research indicates that Space Invaders are strongly attracted to people who have recently eaten meat pies.

This was actually an "odd" deal.  The auctionair must have been tired or something because most of the folks there (myself included) thought he was saying 175.00.  There was a collective groan afterwards when he said 75.00

hooray for auctions!  yeah 75 for sf3 is crazy even if it is sfIII:NG or sfIII: SI, since its normally tough to get the cps3 board alone for that price.  if it was SF3: third strike that was going for 75, i will be pissed.  I cannot find a 3s for less than 350..that's including bootlegs.   :P

I just picked up a Defender at the Super Auction in Atlanta. It was my first arcade auction. What is not listed on the price list is the pure chaos of trying to find power, playing 20 games you have not seen in 20 years, having it shut off half way through because some other dweeb needed power for HIS cab, and stale popcorn. I will be back to more of them.

My only gripe is the 13% buyers premium plus 8 % tax added on top.

Hey were the pins working? the one I went to had about 4 that were working well and all the rest had some serious issues.

I accidentally did that to two guys playing street fighter at the Rockford auction.  When I was behind the cab I couldn't tell which socket was being used.  At the time I felt two inches tall, but I needed the power to test a game I wanted to buy and they were just playing around.

Hey were the pins working? the one I went to had about 4 that were working well and all the rest had some serious issues.

As far as I could tell, all the pins were working.  I'm sure they experienced glitches and catastrophic failure after the buyers got them home.  There were even 3 empty pinball cabinets - without legs, glass, guts, or the backboard.  I knew they would go cheap (all 3 in a package for $40) but I could not figure out what the hell I would do with them. I only remember one - an old starwars.
