Mortal Kombat MAMEWAH Theme

MORTAL KOMBAT MAMEWAH

Okay, been working on my UBER Mortal Kombat Cabinet, you can check it out here.

For everyone who is about to comment. NO I AM NOT DESTROYING THIS CAB. It presently has 4 mortal Kombat boards, MK1, MK2, UMK3, MK4 and I have also added a JPAC so I can run mame games.

Why? Because the cabinet is AWESOME, cause I dont like generic mame cabinets or the multi game type artwork. :)

For starters, I wanted a kick arse opening introduction video. For that, I turned to the Mortal Kombat movie for some awesome clip action. Check it out. I've done a short edit of it here that I use for MameWah.

640x480 WMV File - 1.2mb

If you want the 640x480 AVI file, PM me and I'll send you the link.

Now, I needed a theme that suited my cabinet, one that looked great. I couldnt find one anywhere, so I thought I'd create my own.

Heres what I came up with.

Let me know if you use it in your cabinet, cause IMHO it looks freakin awesome in my MK cab.

I havent added sounds yet, but I'm going to add the CHINK noise that UMK3 uses one the character select screen, and the announcer saying "EXCELLENT" when you choose a game.

I'm also considering using the Utah Saints Mortal Kombat Theme while within MameWah.

Heres the layouts.

Cool... was that video part of the trailer or did you edit it together yourself?

Anyone got a copy of the *CHINK* character selection wav from MK3?? Can't find it on the net, and I dont have a decent microphone to record it from my PCB's.

it looks good.  Why not use the Mortal Kombat Theme Music?  There are some very good remixes out there for download.

You could probably use M1 to grab the sounds (& music): http://www.emuhype.com/

Nice job btw, the only thing I would change is the video clip since the movie is terrible.  The (slightly jerky) movie-clip-style character animations in MK1 are pretty cool, but I suppose not really long enough to make a good intro from.

Mamewah layout

cp after applying vinyl

i plan on adding more art around the cp box and changing tmolding as it is kinda destroyed already. cp was cut as not to destroy original machine much. pc inside it and j-pac,i-pac2,avga.. left orig hardware and pcb's inside.
