Took the plunge...Cab started (COMPLETED with pics)
« on: August 02, 2005, 05:00:26 pm »
Well, I went to the Superauction last weekend in hopes of getting a junk cabinet to build a MAME box, but ended up getting a perfect Tekken3 for $175 instead. This one is too nice to cut up, so I decided to build my own cabinet.

Pretty much complete now except for the coin door and some odds and ends.

Cool theme, I like the CPO a lot too.
I had to beat them to death with their own shoes...

Very nice.

But I'm a little confussed.  There is only like 3 months inbetween your "starting" post, and your "finished" post.  I know this is possible, but very rare.  Kudos.

What did you do with the MK cab?

And now that you're mostly done with your cab, don't be a stranger at the forum.

Yep, I started August 1st and finished this week.  I just have to get a coin door and wire up the light on the trackball and I'll be done.  2 things helped me finish fairly quick.  1. I'm self employed, so I was able to find time during the week to work on it from time to time. 2. My wife stayed on me about having an unfinished project sitting in the rec room.

The MK cab is the one that has been converted to Tekken 3 that I bought at the Superauction to get this whole ball rolling.  I'll be re-doing it next with new graphics, paint, and tmolding.  I've already replaced all the controls with new stuff.

Wow, your wife was encouraging you to build an arcade cabinet.  This is a rare occasion around these parts.
Game programmers do not play games for a living.  Would you say a mechanic drives cars for a living?
