posting hang ups

[missioncontrol]

for the past few days on three different computers (work, home and school) the computer has been hanging up while in the process of posting using both IE and Firefox.  A few others mentioned it in a EE thread yesterday.

I'll have to exit out of the browser but when I return the boards the post has posted don't know what's going on just thought I'd mention it.

if you need any more details to solve it just ask.

Yeah this sounds exactly what is also happenning with me. After I post it just hangs indefinitely. I am posting a lot less at work these days so I don't have a fair comparison though....

well I'm posting more on 3 different machines/connections and I'm noticing it

2 machine high speed connections
1 on dial up

it's happening pretty frequently at all hours.

Is this still occuring? Many times last week I was doing some updating of the box which required some long compiles. This may have contributed to some of the delay. I haven't done a thing to this machine since Monday.

happened last night while I was at work. It hung up on me so I closed my browser. when I came back to the boards and went to the forum I posted in the thread it showed that I was the last person that posted but it was marked with the blue new thing.

I'm thinking it was iaround 3 A.M. North Carolina time

This is happening to me too...I thought it was due to my new router/firewall but it happens at work now too.

Pretty annoying as it's hard to tell if the post has been entered without opening another browser window and checking...

Yeah, mysql has been a little cranky. It was driving up the I/O wait on the box. I just gave it a kick and seems to have calmed down a bit. We'll let it go for a day and see if it improves.

Same shite is happening to me right now. 

I waited so long for my reply to be posted, I just copied it (y'know, for when it was gonna get lost) and hit refresh, and was told a new reply had been added....IT WAS MINE!

Came here to tell you about it, posted a reply in this very thread, got an error message about "you've already posted this", which I HADN'T, and I most definitely HADN'T double-clicked my mouse either.

3am EST is a daily server cleanup period. Most of the nightly items such as log custodian work, logwatch and other security cleanup, as well as a sync of the emerge system all happen around this time. I'll see if I can spread or speed up some of this. The high I/O is what is slowing down post and queries. I'm usually asleep by 3am so I never see it

Confirmed at 4 AM EST as well, delayed posting.  Is it just in the 3-4 AM EST time frame you guys are seeing problems?
