WTB iPac USB cable.
« on: December 28, 2005, 10:42:14 am »
I'm not sure how much they go for, but I'm having trouble getting my iPaq to read presses for 3 of the keys. It's not the wiring(I trippled checked everything) and I believe if I reprogram the iPaq I should be good. Unfortunately I only have a PS2 cable and I'm not sure if that's good enough to get the job done(It times out every time I try it) Andy won't be avaible for orders till January the 9th and I wanted to get this fixed ASAP.
So hopefully a iPaq USB cable will work.

Have you tried programming it through wordpad?

Go to the Run menu, type in   wordpad   .  When it opens, hold down ctrl, alt,p with a keyboard hooked up through the ipac.  You can do everything from there directly.  Hope this helps!  I have had a couple Ipacs and they have acted weird as well for some reason, so I would give this a try.  There should be no problem going through the ps2 port.

Thanks I'll try that tomorrow. So it is possible to program through the ps2 port.

Yes.  I can never get the WINipac to work.  I always use the notepad to set it up.

Well I believe i may need a new chip. I think this bastard is just plain broken. I think mine is too old (Before 2002 maybe?) or something cause the program doesn't boot up. I posted before (then erased it) that one of my controllers shocked someone and then one of the nodes(Player 1 right) stopped working. I guess I gotta rewire it from scratch :(
