Pac-Man Restoration...I'm going in!
« on: November 08, 2005, 01:15:43 am »
Aight, just got this baby home yesterday and let me say....Pac-Man needs some TLC.  I'll post my progess on here as well as my website.  www.jarrettkoren.com  Hopefully some fellow pac restorers will stumble across my efforts and give me some help/advice.  This is my first restoration.  I built a MAME machine about 6 months back using an Angle 19 cabinet.  However, in that instance I didn't have to worry about restoring back to original.  And seeing how this is a Pac-Man I want to do it right.  I'll post some pics shortly.

I would be interested in buying the MsPac daughter card and two character ROMs if you decide to sell them after changing it back to Pacman.

Sorry, no daughter card on this baby! They did a sweet hack on this one.  However, I am looking for the Pac-Man character chips if you have any or know where I can obtain some.  -Jarrett

I'm restoring a Pac-man also (well restoring / MAMEing).  My page is up at: http://home.comcast.net/~willow.tree/paccab.htm

I haven't updated the pics (or taken any) recently, it's just been a hideously slow process of finding close-to-exact paint color matches at 4 different paint stores and then painting.  The yellow takes like 10-15 separate layers for coverage, then multiply that times all the tiny places in the artwork I have to keep going over.  Maddening.  But it's getting there.  I do have paint color codes if you need them, for close-to-exact color matching of the 5 (counting black) colors on the cab.  (Yes 5, the 2 reds are different because of the undercoat!)  I'll post the codes on my site soon.  Of course I am not certain all Pac cabs came out the same, with the same exact colors.

I'd like to see pics of your cab.  What's the damage?
