Some roms roll using arcade vga
« on: October 03, 2005, 02:54:45 pm »
hi im using an arcade vga and some times when the roms are booted they roll, this can be stopped by adjust the v-sync on the the monitor but then when you go back to atomicfe that then rolls so you have change the v-sync back ???. Also anybody know a good program to sort out roms, the ones that use a spinner or a trackball.

thanks

Hi, There are currently two utilities which can be used to generate INI files for MAME which tell the program which resolution to run every game.

MameWah Resolution Tool Can be downloaded here http://mamewah.mameworld.net/downloads/mame_res_tool.zip
Or Gavin Bensons Utility here. http://www.ultimarc.com/avres.zip

Both these utilities will scan the game list and generate INI files which specify the best resolution for each game. After running once, you don't need to worry about choosing the resolutions again. MAME will always run every game at the optimum resolution.
