FS/FT [US-EAST]: World Cup Soccer '94 Pinball
« on: September 28, 2005, 02:53:00 pm »
I posted this on all the usual places, so I figured I'd post it here too.  You never know!

I am located in Charleston, WV, 25314.

I have a Bally World Cup Soccer 94 in pretty nice condition. I'd like
to trade it +/- cash for a Whitewater, Johnny Mneumonic, Dr. Dude,
Black Knight 2000, or others.  I'd like $1750 for it, if I decide to
sell it outright.

I could probably have this delivered to the York PA pinball show October 8th, but would only do this if paid in advance (I encourage anyone to come see the game first, but since a friend would be moving the game, I can't put him through the trouble unless the game is SOLD).

The Bad: Cabinet is pretty good, but not great.  Some small touchups
where are not noticable unless looking very closely. Very slight fading
on the Yellow, except on the head where the left side is faded
noticably.  Translite has a small scratch about 2" and the size of a
hair, and a couple of dings.  One siderail has a small ding.  Lockdown
bar looks okay but could use a regraining.  Coin door is excellent,
with a couple of chips touched up near the lock.  It has some wear on
the Assist saucer, and almost undetectable wear on the lower two.  The
plastic behind the Tackle insert is broken off, but is not visible when
playing.  The Lock plastic could look nicer.  It is a reimport from
Madrid. The rear of the cabinet, and the cabinet under the legs, is
chipped up pretty badly (not visible with the legs on). Soccer ball is
worn, but works fine.

The Good: The game works 100% and plays great.  DMD is nice and bright.
A lot of brand new parts installed, including: balls, rubber, many
plastics, and I have a few spares and new manual as well.  Playfield
has very minimal wear, ramps are nice and clear.  Game was recently stripped
down and cleaned, entire playfield, bottom of inserts, inside of
cabinet, etc. New glass, flipper buttons, instruction/price cards.
Inside of cabinet has no foul odors.

Man, I'd love to get this.  How did you like the play?

Good luck on selling it.

Thanks.  The game play is great, and good for different skill levels.  The kids in my family love it, because they can hit the goal easily and hear, "Gooooaaaal!"  Getting multiball is hard enough that even a good player won't get it every game (I get it about 1/2 the time, and I'm an okay player).  Multiball doesn't usually last that long for me. :)  I have made it to the World Cup Finals and beat Germany only once, and it was an awesome feeling, and pretty wild.  It gives you as many balls as you can use over a period of about 60 seconds.  Since it has a manual plunger, you have to keep reaching over and plunging them in though!  It gets crazy pretty quick that way. :)

I am ready for a new pin, but my Who Dunnit isn't really ready to sell (needs a light shop job), and I also have never caught all 5 killers on it.  That is the only reason I put this WCS up for sale rather than the WD.  I can't afford to buy another pin right now so I figure I'd fish for trades. :)

I may end up selling it outright anyway, because I have some other vids I want to sell that a buddy is interested in trading pins for.

Hey, you cant sell it.. because I'm trying to minic my arcade after yours.. Virtua Racing, WC94 Pinball, working on getting TnF cocktail..  ;D

If you put it on ebay, you'll get close to what your asking for the pin.

Good luck with your sale!!

GGKoul,

Ha! :) Well, I've recently realized that nothing is truly a "keeper" for me because I really love getting a new game, and I can't keep buying games forever.  The T&F and VR will probably go eventually, too.  They both get played so much any time we have friends or family over though.  I would have sold the T&F already if it weren't for that (I NEVER play it by myself... but it ALWAYS gets played a lot when there is a group over).

I may go with ebay, but only as a last resort.  I would much rather trade it, or sell it to a local.  I am hosting our monthly pinball club meeting tonight, so maybe someone in the club will want it.  That would probably be the best thing for me, as far as convenience.

BTW, did you ever get your VR sorted out?

TTYL!

Ah, that's a bummer.  I can't even remember what your last problem was.  Send me private mail if you want to work through it some more.  I haven't had any big problems getting these setups running lately, even got my Live monitor working.

I'm supposed to be picking up another VR Twin tomorrow, in beat up condition.  Not sure if I'm going to just use it for parts, or fix it up and have a 4-player setup.  Too many things up in the air at this point, to make a decision.  I might even be selling my original VR Twin.

TTYL,
Wade
