As far as I can tell, this TV exhibits all of the features that we desire from a MAME cabinet monitor...
1) It apparently DOES power-on with a power restore... meaning you can use a SmartStrip to turn it on and off. Here's a quote from an actual owner:
"I went ahead and bought this tv today. I can confirm that it DOES come on once power is restored, and it does return automatically to its last used input."
2) It DOES remember and return to the last used INPUT and CHANNEL upon power restore.
It seems like the perfect MAME cabinet TV. Do a search on the forums for "JVC 27530" for more information.
And regarding component video, there is a small adapter made by ATI that will output component video for your computer. It is compatible only with specific ATI video cards. There have been a number of threads on this in the forum...
