I came across this only by chance and picked it up for next to nothing as the previous owner is moving and didn't want to be bothered with it.
The story was that it was given to her by her father as a Christmas present back in the 80's. I don't know if this was ever on a route or has been home use only since day one, but it's obvious it has very little play and hasn't been moved around too much.
This thing is %100 original and unhacked except for a credit button installed in the coin door. It's fully functional and the monitor is crisp, bright and awesome looking. Inside I found the manual packet complete with ALL documentation including the registration card, Atari Game Club sign up card and keys (keys still in the little manila envelope they are shipped in)
This machine needs nothing except a little paint touchup on the coin door and the feet repainted.
Some people say these are rare, I don't think that's the case, but it's true that they don't come along very often and when they do they can run higher than $1000 for one in this condition, so I'm pretty jazzed about this.
Here it is, my Tempest Cocktail!
