Anyone in Nebraska?
« on: July 20, 2005, 08:55:42 am »
I don't see many items in or close to Lincoln Nebraska.  Anyone know of auctions, dealers, sites where a schmo like me could find another cab or complete system?

I'm from Omaha, Nebraska.  I know of a few dealers here where you can get cabs and complete arcades.  The only problem is that they are in the arcade business and they price their games accordingly.  If you are looking for a steal of a deal, i wouldn't recommend these places, but if money is not your main concern and are willing to pay slightly higher than market price, then these places might be the way to go if you are looking to fill out your gameroom.

I keep my eye out in the Omaha World Herald all the time for arcade/pinball games.  I don't see them in there too often, and when i do, people often want outrageous prices for them.  Someone was selling a pacman for 1500.00 the other day!  I always want to wait until they list the game for about a week, then call and try to lowball them for it to get it off their hands....the crazy thing about Omaha, is the games are gone in a day!  People are actually paying these ridiculous prices for these games.

Anyways, if you want to know some places around Omaha to go, let me know.  Or if you have any games for sale, let me know.  I only have my MAME arcade, mrs. pacman, and super pacman.  I'm not looking to sell or trade any of those, but i am looking for more games to fill out my gameroom, but i'm looking for deals at the moment as i'm not in any big hurry to get games....or, if you just want to talk about arcade games or mame in general, drop me a line.   I just completed my MAME system about 3 weeks ago, i don't know anyone else on this board from Nebraska, so i was pretty much on my own, but this board helped me tremendously.

All you Texas people should get together and plan a road trip up here to Nebraska.   ;D  I bet you could get rid of almost all your games you are selling.  I know me and this other guy would buy a bunch.

I guess it depends on what you're looking for. I've got complete functional original machines, conversions, and non-functional machines.

It sure seems like a far drive for a machine, though. I was only kidding about the U-Haul. Of course, you're welcome to if you want to. Don't let me stop you. I'm just saying it's a long drive.

They are hard to find here in Nebraska....I drove to northwest Kansas to pickup my Tempest cab.  Ad was here on arcadecontrols and in at least one of the rec.games.video.arcade.* newsgroups.

Haven't found anyplace in Omaha or Lincoln that is getting rid of cabs cheap.

correction jody you picked the cabinet up in North East Kansas., to bad i didnt know about this board when i gutted and destroyed about 4 or 5 descent cabs about 2 to 3 years ago needed the room, and they were horrible conversions or games i simply wasnt interested in, so parted them out and got rid of the cabinets, most of the cabinets though needed some work, some had water damage, etc., one cabinet i wished i wouldnt have gotten rid of though was a solid converted galaxian cabinet. Oh well you live and learn.

Hey, I'm a Nebraskan as well.  I got a few old parts from a guy who was waaaaaay out on West 'O' street.  I think it was past the Pla Mor ballroom and it was in an old crappy building called "El Ranchita."

I'm not sure what happened to that guy because he's not there anymore...  Hopefully he didn't sell me 'hot' parts.

That is funny. West O is bad enough but in a place called El Ranchita?!?!  Those things have got to be sizzling!  Maybe the  :police: took them to the pen.

That's entirely possible.  The guy I talked to was really nice, but also very white-trash.  The business was pretty iffy, but I'm pretty sure it was actually legal.  He actually fixed a monitor for me after I fried it  ::).
