I was just thinking about that today.  Somehow, google manages to filter the piles of spam but still lets a few in each day.  The most annoying thing is (and if anyone knows of a workaround or extension, PLEASE TELL ME!) having to click "all" and delete, MAXIMUM, 100 spam-mails at a crack, instead of me just wanting to delete all 50 kajillion at once.
