ROMS Dont match
« on: June 26, 2005, 11:40:35 pm »
I am trying to run MAME32 0.79  I am having trouble with the ROMS it thinks it is looking for and the ROMS that are on my machine.  They don't seem to match.   Are there different versions of ROMS?  Is there a way to tell MAME32 to just run what is there???  Thanks.

Yes, there are different ROM versions. Make sure your ROM files match the version of MAME you're trying to run. There are several ROM verification utilities out there to help you make sure your ROM files are complete and up to date; a good one is clrmamepro:

Even with that amazing roms tool you are most likely still gonna have a few problems.
As things have changed through mame releases so have the roms.  Not all roms cam be re-built back to an older set.

Best of luck.
