I did for my EYGO monitor...
But I had to do it because it was so !@#!@# big that it didn't fit without removing everything. Basically the tube almost touches both sides of my cabinet.
My hack was to put 2x2's in each corner of my cabinet (and cut a diagonal in each so that the 2x2's can get closer to the tube.) But this type of hack seems very specific to my problems.
If I could do it over, I would have cut out a quick frame with plywood and attached it to the plywood... then mount the plywood on a wooden frame.
why?
I have to move my CRT back 2 inches to get a bezel to fit. (stupid mistake.. don't know how it got by me).
I've been putting this off for 6 months+, but it works... so I haven't spent the time on making it look nice.
