How many @ BYOAC have purchased through TheRealBobRoberts?  I have heard him reccomended because prices are cheaper than happs and it is genuine happ parts.

Anyone have any good/bad comments on purchasing here?

I've never heard anything bad about him. I've never ordered from him.

bought from him countless times. I usually send him a list of what i would like, he sends me back a description of all ordered including price and shipping costs. He is very prompt and everything is well packaged. The moment he recieves payment, he ships. Answers all emails of mine as well. As long as he is in business and I have needs, I would gladly buy from him.

I just ordered from him for the first time about a month ago. He was very prompt with replies, and answered all of my questions. He also shipped the same day he received my check, while some places/people wait 10 days until the check clears before shipping. I would highly reccomend purchasing through him,  I know I will do it again.

I assume parts are all high quality?  Sounds like good feedback so far.

He's great.  He carries Happ parts at a lower price with no minimum order.  He also sells a variety of uncommon items, like wiring harnesses.  I can't say enough goos things about him.

While he was in the hospital getting heart surgery, and his wife was at home with flood waters rising (literally) around her,  they were emailing me to clarify something in my order.  They really go above and beyond.

I've ordered from Bob many times over the past few years.  Nothing but top-notch service!

The joysticks and buttons are Happs.  He's just such a nice guy, he
passes on his bulk purchase savings to the consumer!

Yeah, bob throws in free things once and awhile.  Very cool service.

If you don't see anything on his website just ask him, he will probably find it at a good price.

Yeah, The Real Bob Roberts has some really nice stuff on his site...  I ordered from him once and it was great.  He sells a lot of stuff for really cheap compared to Happs.  Sometimes he's the only way to go because he doesn't demand a minimum order like Happs.

It was a little intimidating at first because he doesn't process online orders or anything - at the time I was reading some kind of negative stuff about him because he's such a stickler when it comes to which payment options he accepts (no credit card)...  But it all went a lot more quickly than I expected even with a check.

I bought my parts from him as well.  Good response to emails, and he got my parts mailed out to me very quick.  When I received them, every then was packed well, and like parts were bagged together.

I'd highly recommend him for ordering parts.

I haven't, and nobody has ever said a single bad thing about him on this board... so I would feel confident.

Also consider www.videoconnect.com.  They are also really good... but you have to call to find out what they have in stock.  They sometimes get weird parts... just ask

I ordered from video connect and they shipped me the wrong joystick. The rest of my order was correct and at a great price but they shipped me a crappy 4/8 way switchable instead of a 4 way dedicated pac-man replacement joystick that I was supposed to get. Also their ordering process is a lot like Bob Roberts and leaves a lot to be desired. They do accept credit cards though.

I ordered three Wico-style joysticks from Videoconnect, and they jammed them in a box that was too small for the sticks, bending all of the switch prongs in the process (and breaking one of them).  The shipping that I paid to send the damn thing back to them did not please me.  That's not to say that I had a horrid experience with them, but it was less than perfect.

Both are good but videoconnection is notorious for poor shipping methods.  I've gotten several leaf sticks and buttons from them and they are always much cheaper than anyone else but often the prongs are bent as the others have said.  I take it in stride as usually I am paying half of what I would pay anywhere else.

I purchased from him when I forgot to order bolts for my joysticks and trackball. Since Happs has a minimum order amount, I decided to go his route.   His prices were reasonable and his service was good.  I think I actually got more bolts/nuts than I ordered, I think he may have thrown in some extra for "good measure"....

I'd definitely do business with him again.
