Quick light gun question...
« on: May 27, 2005, 03:29:45 pm »
Ok after doing some searching, I wonder if somone could help summarize my light gun options? I am planning to get some that work with a tv.

Advantages/Dis-advantages of each?

Act-Labs ? (99.99)
GunCom2? (34.99)

Etc?

Any help would be great.

quick answer.

Biggest problem with the guncon2 is that it wont work well with all games as it doesnt produce a flash. So targeting isnt as good as the actlabs

Disadvantages of buying theACT LABS gun are as follows:

1. Flashes white on the whole screen every time you pull the trigger
2. Does NOT support the "shoot off screen to reload" function
3. The cables cannot be disconnected from the gun and areattached to a big

1, that is really needed by some games
2, no but mame has an option to get around that
3, same thing with the guncon2
4, fair point

Try playing house of the dead 2 or 3 & you will see how that flash it needed
