Guys, Is there an easy to use jukebox that can be controled by the player 1 joystick, so you only have to hit a few buttons. Maybe an a-z for quick finding ???

Thanks in advanced guys.

WinCab Jukebox can be controlled by the Player 1 joystick and a single button; if you have more buttons, they can be assigned to additional functions.  What buttons do you have on your panel besides the joystick?

Well, you don't want to use the joystick, then.  Arcade monitor or PC monitor?

i have a tv.

I just thought a joystick would be good to navigate throught the different buttons on the jukebox then hit a button.

Do you think i could just use buttons to navigate and actuate.

Thanks for you time chris in advance

You can do that, but WinCab is designed to use direct button entry like a real jukebox.

Using the skin shown above, you could use the joystick to move to the song you want, or to the buttons to change pages, and press a button to select... or you can map four of Player 1's buttons to A-D and four of Player 2's buttons to 1-4, and use those to select songs.  Or you could map Player 1's buttons as a six-button numeric keypad for using WinCab's album mode, which I hope to finish this week.  Player 2's buttons can then be saved for optional buttons like Popular, Random, Radio, Pause, Skip, etc.  You can set the Player 1 joystick to change pages; I use the Player 1 and Player 2 start buttons for this myself.

And WinCab is certainly not your only option.  At the bottom of the WinCab home page is a list of links to other cabinet-friendly jukeboxes.

Hi,

another great jukebox is Arcade Jukebox. It works with joysticks and buttons.

Mine own software was also designed for Windows based arcade with limited controls in mind (the beta v2.0 is far better and cheaper than v1.12).

It was designed for using a joystick and 2 buttons for optimal use, and it only require 3 buttons to been functionel....

It also designed for all rotations and have skins too, but it is more like htpc/mamewah based.

Now, it up to you to choose the right software for you, the all three named softwares works very difficent, but they hit the same market.
Decade Old Work: MultiFE, ArcadeMusicBox
Today Works: Various Spectrum Next games from Rusty Pixels and html5 games.

Well ive had a look at em all, all excellent program. You just cant beat one that displays the CD artwork, more user friendly for those who know nothing about it, they can just scroll through the art and find what they like. I think a quick find that uses the alphabet(joystick of course) is essential, you like rolling stones go to "R", too easy. As yet im still undersided, might let the wifey choose.

Yet another dilemma, the kids want karaoke, i got hold of a heap of tunes for it, they use a cdg file ,(i think that what it is), and mp3, if there was a jukebox that did it all great, but as yet cant find one.

Will i need a seperate karaoke program, ive had a look, 2 i tried never played my formate, i found one that worked but no good for my cab, do you guys have any suggestions please.

BTW

I appreaciate all the help you guys are giving.

 :)
