I think the buy\sell board should be restricted

This was not an awesome idea.  I only joined this forum so that I could post in the Buy/Sell threads (NOT THE CONGA LINES).  I guess I'll have to make a few posts until I can post where I want to again.

DrewKaree:
So you're essentially telling us that the process is working ;D

Welcome to the boards.  Take the guided tour, but DON'T tip your guide....it only encourages them to embellish things to make more money :police:

AlanS17:
I don't see the problem with having a minimum post count so long as it isn't prohibitively high.

I like it when people have something neat to sell, but I'd like that person to have an understanding of what's going on and what we're trying to do here.

People just joining to post items for sale don't add anything to the forums. You can't take and take without ever giving. Selling doesn't count as giving in my book.

Arcadiac:
Consider this:

I am a member of a different board.
Another member posted 3 cabs for sale, very inexpensive but was having no luck selling them there.
The arcade cabs just didn't fit in over there.
I PM'd him and invited him to post in BST here, this was before the BST post limit.
Someone here got 3 cabs for a very good price and the seller evidently was satisfied too.
So by inviting him here, several people were helped out, the collector who wanted the cabs, the seller who needed the money, and me, frankly because I like to help out others when possible.
Now I know this isn't a perfect world, this could have gone terribly wrong on buyer or sellers part.
But as this is an Arcade related board, what's the problem with someone coming in simply to make a sale to the group that is most interested in the particular Arcade items the seller has?
Just another point of view based on experience here.

I think that the real fear is of someone here getting ripped off.
If that's the case, let's get serious about a BST dispute resolution process and/or a bad/banned traders list or at least a simple pos or neg references system integrated into the members profile.
Time and experience here doesn't always equal integrity or honesty.

Again just my opinion,
Respectfully, ARCADIAC!
