T-Amp with car speakers?

I'm extremely happy with my newly acquired T-Amp, but I'm struggling to find decent, shielded speakers the right size & shape for mounting in my cabinet.

I'm tempted to get some reasonably good quality parcel shelf car hi-fi speakers & attach bucking magnets to make them shielded. So, my questions are:

1. Am I likely to get decent sound quality connecting a T-Amp to (good) car speakers?
2. How good are bucking magnets at reducing the problems of mounting these speakers near a monitor?

One of the t-amp reviews I was looking at had a chart showing almost double the effective ouput if you use 4 ohm speakers (ie: car speakers).

What size speakers are you looking for.  Partsexpress.com has a good selection of very nice shielded 4 in speakers

Thanks for that - I hadn't even contemplated them!

I've only just started building the cabinet so don't know exactly what my size limitations are, but I'm going to be pretty much following the plans from "the book".

As I wanted to keep things fairly simple, I thought it would be best to go for some coaxial (or even triaxial) units, rather than having separate bass/midrange drivers & tweeters. Parts express only seem to do one shielded coaxial unit, and that requires separate crossovers. Having said that, speakers are certainly not an area of my expertise, so I might be getting confused over what I really need......

Also, I am not an expert in this area so I dont know if I have it totally correct but connecting two 8 ohm speakers in parallel reduce the load to 4 ohm.  You would have to connect two 8 ohm speakers to the amp to achieve a 4 ohm load.  Parts espress has mostly 8 ohm speakers IIRC.

Parts express has some Pioneer 4" shielded speakers for 49 cents!
