Jukebox Bubble Tubes?
« on: March 08, 2005, 01:18:30 pm »
I don't know if this should be in the jukebox forum, that mainly seems to deal with he audio/software aspects.  anyway, I'm planning a MAME cabinet, thought some bubble tubes would look good on the front/sides, like the old Wurlitzer jukeboxes...anybody know how to make these things from scratch?  I was thinking about just using some clear aquarium tubing, don't know how to get the bubble effect, some kind of pump I imagine?  Or, is there somewhere I can purchase some replacement bubble tubes from a jukebox restorer?  I've looked at all the big arcade vendors (Happs, Betson, etc), no bubble tubes to be found.  Thanks for any help.

Exactly.  Small fishbowls use an air blower (correct name??) which simply blows a constant stream of air.    The end of this tube goes into the fishbowl so the fish can have plenty of bubbles to play in.    This air stream sometime is connected to a treaure chest which is located in the fishbowl in case your fish liked buried treaure..

anyway, get yourself one of these air things from a garage sale or from some fish store (they are cheap) and simply use that to produce your bubbles.
