Forcing TV out on ATI all-in-wonder..
« on: November 01, 2002, 01:15:38 am »
Here's a question for those that have an all-in-wonder or an ATI vid-card.  I need to have it automatically goes to TVout except for when I have the vidcard plugged into the CMT-7 it does not pick it as a TV.  I have to hook up to a real monitor.  I need to find a way to simulate the TVout signal so it will go there.  either that or find a way to force TV out and not check for signal

any ideas?

Nevermind, I figured it out.  For those that have ATI and would like to force TV out but the output device does not pick up as a TV.  I found that the most TVout checks for a 75ohms on the other end to see if there's a device there.  If there is, it detects that a TV is there so it allows tv out to work.

For me it was real easy to plug one of the output (RCA) to the input of the all-in-wonder.. and plug Svideo to the CMT-7.  Now when I boot up the system, presto! it goes to the TVout to the CMT-7 and produce a very sharp picture.

I'll post some shots of my box when I get more time.

now to work on a good FE and maybe add a ESC button to my CP so I can switch between MAME games.
