new jukebox project
« on: October 21, 2002, 01:39:08 pm »
I've been working on a jukebox for a while now, it's finally worth showing.  I posted some pics and brief text on my site.

I am currently having problems with Arcade Jukebox.  Some keys will not work with it, more details on my page.  Has anyone else experienced this?  Is this an A.J. problem?

Thanks,
Scott

After attempting several things to fix this problem, I ended up changing the keyboard driver in windows to a "IBM PC/XT 83 key".   It seems to solve the problem, at least with the enter key, which is the one I need in Arcade Jukebox.

Looks good!  What version of Arcade Jukebox are you using ?  I have never come across this problem before but I will look into it.

After undergoing some research I discovered that the scancodes for the primary enter key and num keypad enter key put out different scancodes.  The keypad keys have a "prefix" byte in the scancode.  The scancode utility I was using, reported them as the same.  Therefore I corrected my keyboard hack to control the primary enter key.

Thanks for your reply.

Scott

P.S.  Just curious, are you planning on coming out with an Arcade Jukebox 8?  If so, what enhancements will you add?

I'm always open to suggestions.  I know I can't please everyone so I just try to keep it as user friendly as possible.  I always tell people if you don't like Arcade Jukebox there are plenty of really good jukebox programs out there that could better suit thier needs.  I do plan to release AJ8 but I'm not sure when.
