I am trying to find good sources for a 19" - 20" LCD monitor.

the best way to get an LCD cheap is as an add on for a new dell.  They are contantly giving away LCD's with computers.

Alot of people i know, wait for the lcd included deals, then sell off teh LCD, making the computer very cheap in teh end

A quick Pricegrabber search will usually give you a good idea of what the better monitors out there are.  Check the popular monitors specifications for Response Time, the lower the better. Viewable angle can be a deciding factor too, but these days most LCD monitors' viewable angle is fine. Check warranties since some monitors can develop bad pixels early on in life, especially if they're shipped badly.

Does anyone know a really good deal on the old 15" LCD monitors?  I am interested in making one of those projectors (http://www20.tomshardware.com/howto/20041113/index.html) and I have everything but a 15" LCD monitor (cheapest I found on price grabber was like $185 shipped).

And it's Tiger Direct.  They're notorious and shunned by the bargain-hunting crowd.  Don't hold your breath for a TigerDirect rebate to ever show up.

Just go to www.slickdeals.net they have good deals all the time you just need to check it daily.I have a dell 2001 fp (20 inch flat panel)and they some times go for 554 instead of 999.00.

in reference to the dell ones, these are better quality monitors...i dont know if you can configure order with there lesser quality lcd.  i know i get my 19inch (best model at the time) for 400 when it should of sold for 650...

as someone mention, they have free flat panel upgrades... so its kinda like getting a pc for 100 bucks or so if you have a little extra to spend
