Not trying to be rude, but you do have the PC speaker plugged into the board too right?

The only time I had that one happen to me is when an cap on the board had burst and spilled its gooey innards on the board...I could be wrong, but if you get no POST beeps, and you are positive your speaker is connected properly, than I would have to say you may have a blown board...or I might be overlooking something

some of the newer MB's now have a second power input for the cpu , this threw me a loop once as i didnt even think to look for it .. EVERYTHING on the board came up , fans , leds , etc , just never posted , turned out to be that their was this 8 pin power connection i never noticed ( didnt help that it was colored the same as the mb ! ) , pluged a 8 pin plug on the power supply ( new power supplies have these also , like the mb people and the case people acctully talk to each other ) , cpu got it's power and everything was fine.

is it a brand new board? - on some AMD boards there is a "P4" power connector seperate to the ATX connector, make sure that is plugged in, also have you tried resetting the cmos? - there should be a jumper on the board to do this (usually, but not allways near the battery)

You could also try it with different memory if you can.

What processor are you using?

- Check that the board isn't shorting out on something (metal under the mobo, standoff in the wrong spot, etc)

- When it powers up, are you getting any signs of life??  Leds?  Fans? Hard drive whir?

- If it's a P4, make sure the extra power plug is in as mentioned above, although the AN7 is an Nforce 2 mobo isn't it??  I may be wrong, but if I'm thinking right, you're running an AthlonXP/Sempron mobo.

- What type of power supply? Would you possibly have another PSU to test with.

I just woke up so that's all I can think of right now lol
first off your and idiot

Man I love the internet, haha.

hi dudes, well after ages of faffing around with the board, i took it to my pal who owns a computer shop...  and his suggestion its mofo'd o i know its not shorting coz i had mounted it on plasic feet so there was nothing touching the board,  i tried clearing the cmos all the ways it said in the booklet (even left it for 5 hours without the battery in,  i tested it with another processor (i even tested the 2.8 in my machine at home, worked fine)  he said that this board is plauged with the 90 hang problem, told me to take it back to the supplier and get another, just hope they exchange it!!   its a 2.8 semprom chip, abit   amd mobo btw :D thanks all for trying to help me out, ill post later to say wether they exchanged or not (only had it a week! knew i shouulda tested it as soon as i got it, bah.)
