1941 - Video image Tall & Narrow ??
« on: January 11, 2005, 04:54:25 pm »
Is there a way to correct the video on 1941 so it isn't long and narrow on the screen??

(I'm using Mamewah 1.6 and Mame 0.88)

It's a vertical game, it was meant for a vertical monitor.  That is how you get to see it on a horizontal monitor.

Yep, you can use the 'hwstretch 1' switch in your mame.ini file, but as SirPoonga said, these games were intended for vertically oriented monitors...so it will look odd.

You might also have to set "keepaspect" from 1 to 0.  While this will allow all games to be stretch to the corners of the screen, some of them will look very strange.....

but some look at if you're not a purist, or your eyesight is too bad to play in the postage stamp version anyway.
This can be adjusted on a per-game basis if you want to go to the effort of setting up each game.
