  • I'm a llama!
Hi, this is my first post here. I just bought an X-Arcade joystick controller for my X-Box (I do like the X-Arcade BTW), and it's next to impossible to pull off any quater or half circle moves (i.e. fireballs, etc). XGaming's website gives directions for improving the joysticks diagonals, but they provide no illustrated step by step tutorial. Upon opening the bottom of the controller, the metal microswitch arms are right up against the joysticks, and it doesn't seem that the arms can be moved any closer to improve diagonals....here is a picture of the controller's insides (not mine however)...my metal arms are alot closer to the joysticks than in this picture.

Should the metal arms themselves be moved towards the joysticks more, or should the actual white microswitch hubs be moved 1/8th" towards the joysticks? Can anyone provide some assistance or a website that covers this in detail?

Also if anyone could provide a tutorial for making pushbuttons less springy, that would also be helpful.

Thanks.

FWIW, I have x-arcade joysticks in my cabinet...

I needed to tweak my actuator arms to get diagonals working well...   What I suggest is that you look at the bottom of the joystick while pushing (or having someone else) push the stick diagonal... is it activiating two switches at once? if not you'll want to tweak the levers toward the stick...

I did what the site recomended .. I pushed the lever flush   against the microswitch and then pulled up (towards the shaft) with some needle nose...  and then I'd check the diagonal again to see if it would throw 2 switches to my satisfaction... then I'd go on to the next diagonal...  Bend too far though and an "up" will make a "up and right" (i.e. too  sensistive)...

So... it's a feel thing...   does  that help? let me know if you need more specific info/help.
