Quick disconnect for I-PAC
« on: May 21, 2002, 06:42:56 pm »
I need some advice, Im building a cocktail cab with three control panel locations, each of which I'd like to make modular.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use as a connector from the I-PAC to the controls that can easily be connected/disconnected to replace control panels quickly without re-wiring?

Thanks in advance
Steve

Yeah, use a 25 pin connector (make your coin and start buttons part of the cabinet not the cp).
My cabinet will be like that.
See the 25 pin conenctor (used in serial ports, found at radio shack) in the pic to the right of the computer.

I've used a 25 pin serial connector with my i-pac. I have the cable running from the i-pac ending with the 25 pin connector, and the cables from the buttons and joysticks ending in a 25 pin socket connector on both my control panels, works great!

If you use and i-pac4 with four players you'll need two though.
