Ok, details about the monitor.
This is a 19" Eygo vga arcade monitor.
Model: AMV19V-RB
Chassis: USCS19V
640x480 Resolution
Has a "remote control" to adjust screen size, orientation, brightness, and contrast.
Can be orientated horizontally or vertically.

This should fit a 19" jamma cabinet.

It use to have a reversed image.  Those of you who have been around long enough might remember when these were being sold on ebay.  The mirror image fix was still warrantied by Eygo.  however the monitor is currently out of warranty.  It was a 1 year warranty.  I have had this monitor for about 2 years.  I did the fix right away and tested it out.  It works beautifully as you can see.

The picture is beautiful.  I don't think camera pics do it justice.

I didn't have enough time to play with it.  I just installed windows 98.  I tried .86 but with newer mames you need to have at least 256 colors.  And since I didn't have the drivers for the video card installed I was out of luck to try that.  So I then found an old CD of mine that had 17b14 dos version on it.  I tried that.  I couldn't get the image to go all the way to the edge of the monitor.  I then found an old fraggal's boot cd that uses advmame.  That worked like a charm as you see in the pics.  I highly suggest using advmame with this monitor then.  Again, I haven't played around with it much.  I just wanted a quick fix to get good pictures to show that it works.

Here's some boot cds.  I'd think advmame and any of the boot cds (knoppix, advancecd, fraggal) would work as they all use advmame.

I just wanted to throw in a vote on these monitors.

I have one like that in my first MAME machine and 2 more on the way for future projects. Considering I don't need any more than 640X480, I think it's a fine monitor. Never had any problems with mine. Some PC games may need a higher resolution, and web-surfing is only mediocre, but 640X480 is fine for any emulation out there.

AlanS, have you tried the PC version of Golden Tee Golf on this monitor?  I was wondering what it is like.  I was thinking for awhile to put this monitor in my upright and have a cleaner looking bezel but as I owned my cabinet more I have been doing other stuff on it that and i needed the higher resolution (test programming/development computer as it is my only extra computer to test my code on)

No I haven't tried Golden Tee on it, but I will someday when I get around to it. Tiger Woods didn't work, though. It has a minimum resolution requirement of 800X600.

For an upright machine, I'd rather have a larger monitor, but my next project is going to be a cocktail, anyways. So these monitors are perfect for the job.

I was asked by an ebay user if this monitor will work in a cocktail cabinet.  I hoped so.  I never had the chance to test it.  I;d assume it does since it was a mirror image when I got it.  Which makes me tend to believe it was design to be mounted like you would for a cocktail so a mirror would reflect the image.
