SF Bay Area: 4-Player NBA Jam cab with 25" monitor

This used to be my dedicated Dreamcast cabinet, restored back to original NBA Jam specs.  This is the midway cabinet of choice for most Mame'rs.   Has a nice big/wide control panel, and 25" monitor.  Works great.

if its still around, this is the cab i was going to get hooked up with originally and it would be a nice FU to the guy who flaked out on me repeatedly if i were to end up with the same cab anyway. i just finished finals and just sit on ---my bottom--- all day long, waiting and wishing for there to be a cab to go pick up in the bay area. sending you my contact info via PM........

Ok, I'm in a weird position here.  I guess I priced this too low as I also got 3 serious offers within a couple hours of posting it to craigslist.  

So should I offer it to the first person that emailed me, or open it up to the highest offer (over asking price)?   Also I can't show it to anyone until Wednesday or Thursday the soonest, and I'm sure I'll get more offers till then.

Suggestions?

You offered it for a price.  I would offer it to the first person that responded...but I would give them a reasonable but firm time frame within which to pay for the item.  If they cannot meet the time frame then offer it to the next person that responded.

It is never a good idea to offer something for sale, then raise the price just because many are interested.  It is very likely if you had asked a higher price you would not have gotten as many, if any, responses.  People jump at a fair price...and will work to complete the deal.

I gotta agree.  It would be pretty screwed up if the first person to make an offer didn't get it for that.  If you were the person who made an offer, imagine if the seller said to you:

"We'll, I know I said $395 but someone else offered $500.  Tell you what.  You give me $525 and it's yours."

What's to stop someone else from offering more?  Plus in the end people will be wary of buying again cause they think you might do it again.  It sounds corny but honesty is better than a few extra bucks.

I would never screw people over like that.  I'm trying to show proper ettique by taking the first persons offer first, but I'm wondering if "best offer" is implied here or not?  I am not going to raise the price on the first guy, but if someone makes a better offer (over asking price) and can pickup before the first guy that responded, then is that still a bad thing?

This one guy wanted to come over to my house this morning he was so adimit about getting it.  Weird.  I looked through craigslist (probably should have done this previously) and it looks like all the arcade machines in my area are seriously overpriced (at least in my opinion and what I hear on the boards here).

Oh well, my fault.  I'm going to follow through on the first offer that was emailed to me, and take the next offer if he doesn't show up on time or tries to bargin it down.

I guess you have never sold a house. I know of plent of cases where there has been a couple offers and one is higher than the asking price. Guess who gets the house.

You ask that if the person who made a better offer can pick it up first, would that be a bad thing.  Only if you replied to the first person and guaranteed them first crack at it.  If you haven't responded to them about it then I don't really see anything wrong with going for a better offer.
