« on: July 07, 2004, 02:16:55 pm »
Hi, i'm new here  ;D
i'm looking for an old cab in the uk to convert to MAME, anyone got any good suggestions, i'm 17 and therefore on a 'light' budget to say the least!
in the end im hoping for a 2 player 7 button/player cab, with an arcade monitor and running a athlon 2000+ inside.  ;D
cheers
tim

ebay.co.uk is your friend

there are often jamma cabs posted that are suitable for conversion to mame.

some have already been converted.

also look at getting a jpac from ultimarc.com makes conversion of jamma cab to run mame easy.

if you're going to use an arcade monitor look at getting a Arcade VGA card from ultimarc also.

yes, i have tried ebay on numourous occasions but far too frequently the cabs are the massively deep ones or theyre shot to sh!t. i've decided i'm ideally looking for an arcade somewhere in the southeast in an attempt to buy a cab direct off them, however the only one i really know of is the trocadero, and i doubt that they'll even think about selling one of their cabs to me! i'll check brighton sometime next week though, they should have an arcade or two leftover.
