FS Lightgun holsters for any surface!
« on: June 16, 2004, 04:29:17 pm »
These fit an Act-Labs lightgun perfectly! (I don't know about any of the other lightguns) They are much more sleek than a metal hook on a cab. They can also be used to mount the lightgun to your computer.

They are made out of a hard rubber that won't scratch the gun's finish.  They come with the hardware to mount them to any surface.

It includes:
-the holster
-wood screws
-machine screws
-double sided adhesive tape
-riser to bring further away from the mounting surface

These are the best way I have found to mount a lightgun to anything yet.

UPDATE:
I've still been getting orders trickling in for these, so I thought I'd update this ancient post.

I have 9 of these things remaining, and my source for them is no longer available. Once these are gone, I am afraid that I am out.

I will ship all orders placed before Friday, this weekend (Which is incredible for me, as I am a rather slow shipper.).

$5 for one + $3 shipping=$8

Or cheaper pricing as quantity raises:

2 hooks for $11 shipped
3 hooks for $13 shipped

email me for further pricing or questions: aparkhill@gmail.com

Payment can be sent via Paypal to: anthonyparkhill@hotmail.com

PS: I am sorry to all of those that have tried contacting me at my hotmail account, but I recently lost access to it.

The only color I have is grey, but my best cab is fire engine red, and it looks great on there. The great thing about grey is it can match anything.

Black Sharpe is the cheapest sort of black paint there is. I don't know, but you might be able to paint them.

I am told that they are used to hold high-end wireless barcode scanners for mobile applications. They really do hold the lightgun better than anything I have ever seen.

Do you think they could easily hold N64 controllers?  Basically, will the center section fit between the two posts.....while remaining stable.   would love a pic if possible.  if so, i'll take 3

No. It doesn't work well enough for me, because the odd shape of the N64 controller's back.

Here are some pics. I also just ordered a 2nd one for another lightgun. Hopefully the recent changes in mame will have better support for two guns when the bugs get worked out.

Here's another view... I like the angle these hold the gun away from the cabnet.  I used the optional base, as I found without it I tend to hit the front of the gun against the cabinet when putting it away.

Note also the basket of minty-fresh BYOAC Tokens.  :) (That's a basket of 600 tokens... I didn't think 200 was enough.)

Has anybody used the double-sided tape to mount these.  I think I want to get them, and I would be using the riser, but I'm not sure I want to mount them with screws into my laminated side panels, in case an even more attractive mounting option becomes available in the future.

Would the double-sided tape last quite a while?

The Act-Labs guns are very light; I have to imagine that double-sided tape would last quite a while, and ifit gives out, you can always get more.

Anthony, do you have anymore of these available? I just did some tests and i got the n64 controllers to fit perfectly. The trick is, you have to use the riser with the stickyback adhesive, and also remove the rumble pack from the controller, fits like a glove! And it doesnt have that akward leaning forward look. I'm looking to get 2 more. Thanks!
