Tron not launching!
« on: June 13, 2004, 01:28:30 am »
I can't figure out why my Tron file is not working. I have tried launching tron.zip from both MAME and MAME32 (MAME32 does not see it in the menu). I have tried refreshing and resetting the computer and it still won't find it. I think that there may be some other roms that are not showing up as well, though I am not sure. What do you think is wrong?

Try an older version of MAME or a newer version of the troubled ROMS.

I stepped it back to 0.31 and now I get this error (BTW, I selected 0.Silence from the menu since I figure it is the easiest thing to test on).

Someone else is going to have to step up to bat on that one.  But try another version of MAME -- a newer old version perhaps and see if you still get the same error.

Don't use VESA modes.

Best solution -

Download ClrMAME Pro from http://www.clrmame.com/ .
Read how to use it at http://www.mameworld.net/easyemu/clrmameguide.htm .
Run it and see if your ROM should work with your current MAME version.

why are you running the dos version of mame in 2k?

won't work.

Either bring it up to a new version with win32 code.... or....

run under dos.

Then don't forget the SDD (sci display doctor) is now freeware.  AMAZING software to get all the vesa modes running on basically any video card.
