Cocktail Cab kit
« on: May 03, 2004, 07:53:31 pm »
I was wondering if anyone would be interested in buying a Cocktail Cabinet kit that would include all the wood (3/4 mdf) precut so it would just need to be put together. Here are some pics of what it would look like

I've done a full side cab based on Lusid's design and have been wanting to do a cocktail project.

Depending on your location and the cost of shipping added to your sales price for "the kit" (I'm in Texas) I'd sure consider it.

While I have the woodwork and finishing skills this would be a good jumpstart.

I've considered some of the other kits I have seen on Ebay from time to time but thought they may be a bit prohibitive and I like the side by side design you are going with for the controls.

That's the way I was considering doing mine so as to not have to worry about vertical flip, etc.

Not sure what size monitor cutout you are accomodating, I am considering doing a 21 inch for the monitor so that cutout may need to be adjusted but I could handle that.

I look forward to your reply.

Steve

what about doing a glass top like the real cocktail cabs? I think it'd be more appealing.

Also, what about controls on the other ends for vertical games?

These pictures are not of my completed cab. I did use glass just like a real cab. About the vertical games i will just play them horizontally for now i havent decided if i want to add those side control panels yet. It wouldnt be hard to add them at all.

well I'm sure you'd get more interest if you provided more details (including project price, method/price of shipping, construction information, etc)...

Some nicer pics would help your cause too...

Check out how arcade depot show's there stuff... (note i'm not affiliated with them in any way, and have never used their kits... but would consider on of their kits for a coctail project in the future)

Thanks

I guess steve isnt really interested.

Sorry to have posed the question and then fallen out of the discussion......biz gets crazy, girlfriend buying house needing some minor repairs which in means more honey do's for me, divorced dad with three kids and school year nearing the end, my free time runs thin now and again....

I'm not an immediate candidate with the other todo's on my plate at the moment but do have interest in putting together a cocktail cab.

I'll be happy to see further progress in your plans should you choose to post them in the future.

Thanks again for responding.
