How to fix horizontal position on an Arcade Monitor
« on: April 23, 2004, 08:01:30 am »
Hi.  Just completed my first Mame cabinet.  And the horizontal position is off just a little to the right by about 1/4 of an inch.  How do I move this to the left just a tad?  This would me easy if I used a PC monitor, but not sure if there are similar controls that control the horizontal and vertical position on arcade monitors.

Thanks

Whats the monitor and whats the setup?  Typically there are pots that control this positioning.
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

I don't know the exact model of the monitor.  I see a sku number that has wgec on it so I'm guessing it mght be a Wells Garner arcade monitor.  My setup is monitor to jamma connector to  JPAC to VideoVGA card.  I hope this is enought info.

A pot is a variable resistor, like the volume control on your stereo.

You should have various pots such as h. phase, h. freq, v. shift, etc.

They can have slightly different names between makes and models, but you want to adjust the horizontal shift (h. shift) to move it left and right. h. amp will increase the width.
