Looking for USB trickery for resuming from sleep
« on: March 02, 2025, 10:44:18 am »
Hello.

I have recently updated my CP interface from an old OG PS/2 IPac to the current IPac2.  Everything is great, but there is one thing I miss from the old one.  I used to be able to just shake any stick or press any button and the computer would start and resume from sleep.  The IPac2 doesn't seem capable of doing this with buttons, joysticks or spinner/trackball, even though I have set up resume from sleep with USB in the BIOS.
Indeed, I can wake up the PC with my regular mouse and keyboard, but not with the IPac2.  This, in fact, adds to the issue, because I sometimes inadvertently wake up the PC when I brush past the mouse.

The only thing I can do is to assign a shifted function to one of my CP buttons with the WinIPAC software to wake up the PC, but this is less convenient and intuitive than just pressing any button.  I know, it's not the end of the world, but I'd love to find a workaround.

Any suggestions?

Set your PC power settings to never sleep.

(just to clarify, you can set the machine so it never sleeps, but still turns off the display after X minutes/hours.)
