US versions of Pole Position 1 & 2 for MAME- what's the deal?

I can't find the US versions anywhere- I can only get the Japanese versions to work.  Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?  Any US version I seem to find won't come up in MAME.  Only the Japanese ver.

Any help would be appreciated

When you're trying to troubleshoot problems like this, it helps to also mention the version of MAME and the ROMname.

Sounds like you're either launching the wrong versions of the game or using the wrong ROMs.
- To make everything work, the ROMs/ROMset need to match the version of MAME you are running.  The further apart the ROMset version and MAME version are, the more problems you will have.

These versions of Pole Position are confirmed working in English with MAMEUIFX v0.152 and MAME v0.262.

You can use the Arcade Database links above to find which ROMs/BIOSes you need for the version of MAME you are running and the CRC for the file(s).
