Change arcade joystick input from POV to Analog?
« on: July 23, 2023, 10:45:03 pm »
Hey guys.. so my arcade machine has a PS3/PS4 encoder. The joystick acts as a POV (Dpad) but wanted to know if there’s a software so it can be changed to analog? I know there’s other encoders that allows the switch over, but rather keep the one I have if possible.

Thanks!

What kind of encoder is it? What kind of joystick? If your stick is clicky then there would be no reason to move it to analogue inputs as it will still be on 100% or off. If it's an analogue model then you could take the wires from the joy and send to the encoder's analogue input. Some pictures would help!

x360ce might do what you what you want.

I've used xpadder to post keyboard keys for very old games that didn't recognize the d-pad,  but I doubt that is what you're after.
