How to relocated buttons
« on: February 26, 2023, 05:00:39 pm »
i have a cab with an extra 6 buttons (3 on each side) that I would like to move to the top console and cover them. What do I use to plug/remove the holes? Thanks.

Various vendors sell button hole plugs like the ones at https://focusattack.com/suzo-happ-button-plug-with-nut/ . . .

. . . or try something like one of these two if you have access to a 3d printer.
- Haven't printed either of these so no idea how well they fit/work.

thank you for the reply...do you know if I can use putty or wood pieces and putty to plug it?

Putty by itself usually isn't a good option since most of them contract a bit as they dry -- more putty, more shrinkage.

Use a drill press and holesaw (minus the centering drill-bit, if possible) to cut a plug.

Put the plug in the hole and tap in wedges of wood to secure it flush with the top of the CP.

Fill in the remaining gaps with putty (or Bondo) and sand it smooth.   ;D
