mame/retroarch cabinet console games
« on: February 05, 2022, 08:33:04 pm »
Well i thought i was ok with arcade games and older Nintendo /Genesis console games.  I am now wondering is there anyone who has got some newer console games working with arcade setup?  I realize there will be limits on number of games that will work well, but i figured if someone had list of known games that work with 6 button and joystick why not add them to increase the arcade offering/experience.   I am not interested in adding actual console controller to my pc running the emulators and would prefer they work with my current 6 button and joystick layout.  I guess technically i could go 9 buttons if i steal the player 3 and 4 three buttons i have on the sides when configuring in retorarch.  I figured simple racing and fighting games would be most common.

If you got some working or a list of names let me know i wouldn't mind adding more to my system.  I am running mame for the arcade portion and retroarch for the consoles with launchbox tying them all together.

32-bit console games I have with the emulators I got them to work with (which aren't necessarily the only ones or the best ones):

Playstation shooters (Mednafen):
Parodius: Chatting Parodius Live - Forever With Me
Maybe Einhander - I don't think I had to leave out any controls on my 6-button layout, but I see I have a "cycle weapons left" button but no "cycle right" button, so maybe I sacrificed that one.
Zanac X Zanac Neo

Deamcast (Demul):
Marvel Vs Capcom 2
Project Justice

Gamecube (Dolphin):
Soul Calibur 2

Wii (Dolphin):
Tatsunoko Vs Capcom
