PC Front End
« on: January 01, 2021, 03:32:52 pm »
So I have been rocking emulation station with the Pi for most of the year and have decided that I needed to put a PC in the cabinet for better capability.

So I have CoinOPS, Emulation Station, Launchbox and now looking at getting Big Box for $30, but I really do not need all the messing around regarding configuration colors etc.  I just want it to work like Emulation Station.  So you say go with that, but it needs work to get it working and my patience from last year is all used up.  Launchbox is on it at the moment but is not working with Mame.  Typical.

So is there a way I can get all my emulators (I have a good selection) working all together with minimal fussing?

Please advise.

Consider Attract Mode http://attractmode.org/ excellent front end that even works on older Windows XP machines, super easy to configure and can even do an imitation Hyperspin like layout without all the Hyperspin headache.

I just remembered I had Maximus Arcade from Xarcade when I ordered some parts.

They gave me a free version 2.10 so I am trying that out with some dismay as I am getting errors when importing MAME titles.  I am trying to get a catch all for the emulators under Retroarch.  Maybe a rod for my back?  We will see.

I will give attractmode a try.
