Jamma 60 In 1 Not Always Booting Up
« on: December 02, 2020, 10:06:22 am »
Hi.  I Installed a 60 in 1 board with the Mikes Arcade Cabinet Adapter. It works ok, just sometimes won't boot up without distorted display.  I reboot and it comes up correct.  I adjusted the smps voltage to 5.30vdc which put the 12 volts at 12.90. I thought it improved, but after sitting it came back again.  Any Thoughts? Thanks.

voltages are fine turned down at 5.1 as the 12v line is only used for the audio amp to drive the speakers connected through jamma it's fine if it's low...it only a few watts anyways.

sounds most likely a monitor sync issue to me... they don't put out a particularly standard form of video and i've found some monitors don't play well with it without a bunch of futzing around. i'm not sure how you have it set (15k/32k) but it might be worth it to try flipping the DIP switch toggle back and forth a few times to make sure it has a good connection.

And also double check that the dip switch is actually working, I had to add a jumper wire to my board to get the vga output working.  A multimeter confirmed it wasn’t actually making a connection when the switch was flipped.
