RGB stick for Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT
« on: October 19, 2020, 03:37:19 am »
Well hey guys!! It's been a long long time since I last visited, but well, here I am again. Got a new project going on. This one is an Arcade1Up conversion to Hyperspin. Well anyways, so I ordered a couple of J-stik and RGB tops and of course RGB buttons from Ultimarc and I also ordered a custom control panel from Tulsa Arcades. Started putting the thing together tonight, figured I'd start with the control panel first and I ran into a snag. When I went to install the joystick, it was too big for the control board on the right side (I reverse my layouts because I joystick right handed and fire with left). As you can see by the image, it overlaps too close to where the panel gets screwed down:

Contacted JC at Tulsa Arcade's about it and from what he had told me, he had drilled them for Sanwa style joysticks, not J-stick... my own fault really, I should have been more specific.. ya live and learn I guess... but anyways, so I thought, no problem, I can make this work still, so I ordered a couple of Sanwa's: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072X8WKQQ

Ultimarc specify's that the RGB sticks only work on the J-stik and the ServoStik, while on the other hand, I have seen websites advertise this same RGB stick and they say it works with the Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT. Does anybody know if this is accurate or can confirm this? I don't mind swapping out the J-stik's for the Sanwa's, but I'd really like to keep the RGB shaft and ball.

Otherwise, if it doesn't work, does anybody know of any alternatives that WILL work with Sanwa type sticks? Thanks.
