Rowe External Dual Volume Control
« on: August 17, 2020, 05:47:31 am »
Hi,

Can anybody know where I can buy a dual volume control that will work on an R86.
I am in the uk, seen a few on ebay, but many sellers are not willing to ship over here.

Any help gratefully received.

Are you talking about the standard "stereo" remote volume control? Or is it the dual mono remote intended for controlling the volume in two seperate zones?

Betson Enterprises here in the USA sells the dual channel volume control kit:

Thanks again Ken.
I did contact them and unfortunately they want $80 to ship it to the uk....
I have found a firm in the UK that sells the single volume version. Would it be possible to buy two of these and daisy chain them together and disconnect one of the reject buttons?

Thanks again for the help.
Matt

The official Rowe part number for the dual channel remote volume control accessory is 30632209. Perhaps you can use that number to find it in the uk?

Thanks for that  Ken.
Alas I've not had any luck. Every search that produces a dual version control seems to be located in The States.
I'll keep having a random look.

Hi Ken, or anybody who can help on this one,,

I got hold of one of the dual volume controls.
I followed the instructions that you had sent me on a previous post about which speaker connections on the amp to remove and which to re-connect.
Wired the appropriate cables onto the board that covers the amp from the volume control and moved the jumper over as per instructions.

Tried it and hit a problem.

The new speakers are on full blast and cannot be controlled.....
I have re-set the juke box to the original wirings and used the control to alter the volume as if it could not perform the dual volume function. Still left the new speakers connected but tested both volume dials on the control and they work fine.

Hope all this makes sense, but any ideas?
