LEDSpicer is an open-source LED Controller, Mame output manager, Joystick Mode Switcher for Linux/Raspberry Pi. Here are the release notes & new features for version 0.5.0:
- Crafted Profiles is a new feature that requires minimal setup to light LEDs based on the information provided by MAME. Only 1 profile file is required to take advantage of this feature, but overrides can still be created for specific ROMs or special configurations.
- Default colors for elements and groups can now be set.
- Support for GroovyGameGear GP-Wiz40 encoder with Roto-X technology has been added. This feature enables the use of the rotary mode on this encoder and allows dynamic mode changes from 12 to 8 way rotary for up to 2 joysticks per configured board.
- Support for GPWiz49 with dynamic mode switching has been added. You can manually change the mode using the rotator program, or the stick can change dynamically based on MAME
- Both Midaway/Happ and Williams Sinistar type 49-way controllers are supported
- Restrictors now support multiple-player devices (eg. running 2 rotary sticks through the GP-Wiz40)
- Fixed some bugs.
- Cleaned up code.
- Improved documentation.
- Removed the wait for profiles to end, now ends immediately.
The documentation is still limited for these new features, but it's being worked on. I've been testing the GGG and Ultimarc mode switching and various light boards. So far it's all looking good.
